In October 2010, the Mudd House was host to 700+ Boy Scouts. Amongst the many activities that weekend was a demonstration of Civil War battle re-enactment. Under the guidance of the re-enactors, the Scouts conducted a fictitious Civil War-style Battle of Zechiah Swamp. This fascinating event in alternative history may have been lost to the ages, were it not for a pair of videos that user Troop908Hughesville posted on Youtube.
