July monthly talk: “Lincoln and Houdini?” July 20th

Leo Hevia will present a fascinating talk on the connection between Harry Houdini, the famous escape artist and magician, and Abraham Lincoln. Even though they lived a generation apart, Lincoln was a childhood hero of Houdini, who collected many books and Lincoln memorabilia. In later life, Houdini also exposed many of the fake spiritualists who claimed to have made contact with the dead president.

The presentation will be July 20, 2019. All of our talks are free to the public and begin at 1 pm in the Exhibit Building. Seating is limited, so please come early!

The Mudd House Museum is open from 11 am to 4 pm for guided tours. The last tour begins at 3:30 pm. Tours of the House are $7 for adults, $2 for children aged 6-11, and children 5 and under are free.
